Let’s Talk About Dublin.

Me and Ally at Howth
Meh.
I was not completely impressed. The raving ‘100% IRISH’ Americans need to actually visit the land they call home.
Dublin at least was a bit disappointing. Then again, I did not have a tour guide for the entire trip. Ally and I ‘winged’ this trip. We wandered the streets of the city, looking at the architecture, etc, and managed to walk up and down every major street within a few hours. I sound a bit cynical, and granted, had we had a tour guide or went with someone who knew the city it may have been quite lovely. But for the most part I was bored. It’s not a big city like London. It’s 1/1000 the size it seemed.

So what did I do then?
Toured the Guinness Storehouse and learned about the beer making process. Still not a huge fan of the beer, though. Guinness to the Irish is like water… Essential to daily life. The fresh beer went down like water but left quite a bitter aftertaste. I think I’ll stick to my ciders and mix drinks.

To be honest, I don’t really know what we did the first day we were there. We just meandered the city and got our bearings I guess.

Malahide Castle.
The European Union was held here during Margarette Thatcher’s Time.
2nd day, WE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CITY. So we went to Malahide Castle and Howth (said as Hout) and took a tour.
