To set a basis for our story, today is 7:00 on Monday.
Lets go back to Friday. Friday the girls and I ventured to Regent’s Park and had what we called a ‘photoshoot’. I think it went pretty successful.

But I came back with the sniffles and the day ended with me not feeling too hot. I went to bed early.
Saturday started with me feeling better! Did some coursework, started to feel sick, hung out with the girls, watched Romeo and Juliet for Caitlin’s Shakespeare class, felt better. I wanted to go out, the girls decided to stay in. I was going to see James, the guy who had sat next to me on airplane. Went across the river to Putney and met all his buddies, who I had met before–On the Airplane! They all remembered me and now that I wasn’t dead tired I remembered them and could understand what they were saying.
“I soon met and was bombarded with 2 – 6 British men all around my seat, talking to each other, talking to me. The one guy, James whom I had been talking to for hours, made sure that I felt included. “I was just telling Jess about … “ “Jess said….” …. Before we all got off the flight, James gave me his business card (with cell phone number) to hit him up for a night out at the pub. Score 1 for Jessica!!!” - Myself. First Blog Post.
Anyways, they were all fantastic to hang around with and I had a fabulous time! James said the club we went to was rubbish, but hey, I didn’t pay. lol. No, seriously, it was fun. Mostly because of the company.
After the club we (James and I) went with two of his buddies from the airplane to KFC (NOTE: KFC in England is diff than the States… at least this one was… it didn’t emphasize the crispy chicken breasts and legs, the way it does in the States). After ordering we went to the bus station and on the bridge over the Thames. It was nice. I hadn’t been that far along the Thames before and there were no big city lights. Just the calm river. Got on the bus and went back to James for the night because it was rather late and I was getting tired.
Woke up at 6:45, but really it was 5:45 because we had changed the clocks back. I set my alarm so I could meet Ally and Caitlin at the bus station to go to Bath. We had pre-ordered tickets so all we had to do was show up… Well… all I had to do was show up. Caitlin and Ally decided to pick up their tickets at the bus station instead of print them out the night before (guess who printed…). When I didn’t see them at the designated meeting point I assumed they were on the bus. I got on the bus, no Ally and Caitlin… The bus turns on, starts moving, I’m off! Caitlin and Ally couldn’t find the place to get their tickets so they had to pay all over again. I would be getting to Bath at 11, they at 1.
Got to Bath, explored, ate a proper English breakfast : Egg, 2 toast, sausage, bacon, tomatoe, 2 mushroom, baked beans. It was quite a bit.
James told us that they make new buildings look old. It’s cute.
The girls finally arrived and we met up with our friend James (diff James) who is also a UCL boy. We see him quite a lot as he lives in Nido with us. James, or Jimbo as we learned his rare nickname was, lived in Bath for 23 years of his life (his whole life) so he showed us around and was the most perfect tourguide ever. He showed us the Roman Baths, the streets used when filming old Jane Austen like movies, the stree that Johny Depp has a house on… etc. He even drove us in his car! Excitement!!!! We did 2 chinese fire drills! It was a first for James. It was so much fun!
Can you see the steam coming off the water? It gets to 115* F

James said that Johny Depp has a house in this row.

James and his cute car
A 3 hour bus ride back home, 1 hour tube ride from Heathrow Terminal 1,2,3 to King’s Cross (Zone 6-Zone1)(Thats a HUGEEEEEEE distance via underground) Got back and felt HORRIBLE! I was feeling feverish waiting for the bus in Bath and being back in Nido, I felt like I was burning up, even though I was cold as anything. Cranked up the heater, put on sweats, under the covers I went… Tom came to check up on me and said I was very warm. We decided it best for me not to go to uni today if I wasn’t feeling 100% better. I felt 0% better. No uni.
So today I woke up late, emailed my instructor and Nicki Newcombe (the LMU study abroad adviser) of my absences and tried to do work. The internet was being horrible, so I went to bed at 2. Tom called at 6 and said he had bought me soup and throat soothers. So Tom came up, cooked me some soup, and said he’s check up on me after his football game tonight.
I’m hoping I feel better tomorrow. Tomorrow is Tuesday which means we get to see Dane. But if I’m not feeling well, I don’t want to get him, nor the girls, sick. That wouldn’t be good.
So I guess that’s the past few days in a nutshell for you.
APPLY TO STUDY ABROAD!!!!! You won’t regret it!!!!
