Enough said.  Lets get down to business!
FIRST LONDON SNOW IN OCTOBER FOR 70 YEARS!!!! And we were there to conquer the moment!  As you can probably notice we are all DRENCHED!  It snowed which then turned into slush.  Make a snowball with the slushy snow and that becomes ice and water.  Our gloves became soaked so many converted to bare hands.  Our hands were soooooo cold!  Tom nailed me good with a snowball so I ran after him, slipped, fell, and I actually cut my knee through my pants.  So I have a lovely 7 year old kid looking scab on my knee right now.  Good times though!

I told you (previous blog post) about my fever.  Well, it was strep throat! SURPRISE!  What a wonderful way to ruin my week.  It was horrible and I felt like death for a while but it’s Monday and I am starting to feel good as new!
My first bit of coursework is due tomorrow and I have it all finished!  Cross your fingers for a good grade.

Saw Dane yesterday.  He, Caitlin, and I got pizza next door.  Much needed pizza!  I needed something more than soup and water and penicillin!
Today going up to East Finchley to see Dane again (to make up for last week).  His football team Newcastle is playing Aston Villa.  They’re going to loose, but it’s still fun.  We have some good chats.
Tomorrow hopefully seeing James.  Been a week since I saw him as well.
I see Tom daily.  He’s pretty much my main boyfriend.  But we know that when I leave, its the end.  So we’re not making it serious.  It’s just for fun.  “Yeah, I dated an American girl.” and “I dated a Brit.”  He’s a good boyfriend.  When I was sick and bound to my room he made sure to get me medicine and soup when I needed it.  He’s too nice.

Here is some football knowledge for you:

This is Sunderland’s colors.  And their big player Djibril Cisse.  He’s crazy.  Sunderland fans love him, but to me he comes off as ‘the coaches daugher’ like in basketball.  Every game he does something crazy with his appearance. He bleeched his beard, has a mohawk.  But thats now what makes him the ‘coaches daughter’.  Cisse is a striker and during the match against Newcastle in Sunderland (Enemy vs. Enemy) he made one goal, but he missed several others and made the “Can’t believe I missed that! Let me take five seconds out of my day” face!  Tom simply adores him though.  He thinks he’s the greatest thing ever.  Sunderland is slowly becoming my team.  Red and White!  O yeah. lol

This is Newcastle’s kit (uniform).  Newcastle United are the mortal enemy of Sunderland.  Only Newcastle and Sunderland fans know the inappopriate phrase – ‘FTM’.  Guess what the F stands for.  F the Mags.  Newcastle is refered to as Magpies.  This is Dane’s team.  So on days I see Dane, like tonight, Newcastle is my team, even though they are second from the bottom of the league!  Yikes!  I don’t really go for losing teams.  This guy is Ameobi and he’s always on the screen.  I never really pay too much attention to the game to realize what he does and since Sunderland is my team, I won’t be looking up his stats online.  Sorry dears.  Dane has refered to the grounds of Sunderland as ‘the New Jersey of the North East’!  I love him for that!  Only he would know that New Jersey in the States is dirty! Because, let’s remember, where did I meet Dane?  Philadelphia Airport.  First saw him when mom, dad, and Mom-Mom Rockhill dropped me off.  I think it was fate :-P

A good look here and you’ll find that Sunderland and Newcastle (both is caps) are very close to each other.  So now you can understand the intense rivalry.

Arsenal… They should be my team.  King’s Cross… I’d say a lot of middle and north London support Arsenal.  We have been told to go see a game but haven’t gotten around to it.  You can see Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium from my Uni and it is (doy) the stop right after my Uni.  The tube ride goes like this from King’s Cross: Caledonia Road, Holloway Road (my stop), then Arsenal Stadium.  Arsenal is James’ team and I am told they are my team as well. (Surprise there, as all 3 teams have been imposed upon me.)  But all this football stuff is quite fun.  I love it!

Anyways, there is your British lesson for you.

Question of the day:
How does one pronounce garage in England?
Ask me in December!  It’s brilliant!  I had no idea what Tom was talking about for ages!

Well, off to get some work done.

O YEAH! No New Zealand.  My loan didn’t work out right and I will be going to Villa Julie/Stevenson for my second semester.  O well.  Down time might be good.

I love England.
Love,
Jessica Leigh Swing
