This past Thursday was interesting. It was like I had a big secret.
Thursday night during my American Gov’t class, my professor was talking about the Soviets, East Berlin & West Berlin, the Wall, etc. I kept thinking to myself – “I’ve been there. You can see where the Berlin Wall used to stand…”

The cobble down the road is where the Wall once stood.

Remnants of the Wall.
Not even an hour later, I’m walking back to the Shuttle and I start seeing MAP movie posters for the Harry Potter #7 movie showing. The Platform 9 3/4 posters were supposed to entice students to enter the magical world of Harry P and join them for the 9PM showing. When I arrived at Rockland to watch the movie, again, additional Platform 9 3/4 drawings were on display.

The REAL Platform 9 3/4. Kings Cross/St. Pancras. London. August 2010.
In the end, I think people need to take more chances and go out and live a little. Learn about history while standing on it. Be a nerd in all the right ways. Yes, trips abroad can be expensive, but think about it. You spend what, $10k + a semester to attend Stevenson. Why not $3k for a trip overseas. It has definitely been the best money I’ve ever spent.
